Fractional CO2 laser is a medical-grade skin resurfacing treatment designed to improve skin texture, tone and overall skin quality.
The Vjuve MD Fractional CO₂ Laser technology delivers precise fractional energy into the skin, creating microscopic treatment zones while leaving the surrounding skin intact. This stimulates the skin’s natural healing response and supports collagen renewal.

Consultation & Test Patch
A consultation and test patch are required up to 2 weeks prior to your first treatment. This allows your practitioner to assess your suitability, skin type and response to the treatment, select appropriate settings and monitor for any delayed reactions.
A quotation will be provided during the consultation following your assessment.
Visible improvements may be seen after one treatment; however, a course of treatments may be recommended depending on the concern being treated, the treatment area and your individual skin response.
Pre-Treatment Advice
Preparing your skin correctly before treatment is important to help minimise the risk of complications and support the best possible results.
- Active Skincare: Do not use active skincare products on the treatment area for 5 days prior to your test patch and treatment. This includes retinol, Retin-A, exfoliating acids and strong exfoliants.
- Sunbeds: Avoid sunbeds for 10 days prior to your test patch and treatment.
- Sun Exposure & Fake Tan: Avoid excessive sun exposure, arriving with tanned or sunburnt skin, and do not apply fake tan to the treatment area prior to your appointment.
- Cold Sores: Please inform your practitioner if you are prone to cold sores or are treating the face or mouth area. Preventative antiviral medication may be required.
- Hair Removal: Avoid waxing, plucking, threading or chemical depilatories on the treatment area before treatment. Shaving may be permitted if appropriate for the area being treated.
- Medication Review: Inform your practitioner if you are taking any medication or if there have been any changes to your medical history before your treatment.
- On the Day: Arrive with the treatment area clean and free from makeup, fake tan and skincare products.
What to Expect During Treatment
The treatment area will be thoroughly cleansed and prepared before your procedure.
The Vjuve MD handpiece is passed systematically over the treatment area. You may hear a scanning sound and experience a warm, prickling or snapping sensation.
Treatment time will vary depending on the size of the area and concern being treated.
Post-Treatment Advice & Healing
Healing times and downtime can vary depending on the treatment settings, area treated and your individual skin response.
Days 1–3: Redness, Warmth & Swelling
- The skin may feel hot and sensitive, similar to sunburn.
- Keep the skin dry for the first 24 hours.
- Redness and swelling are expected and can be more noticeable in certain areas, such as around the eyes.
- After the first 24 hours, cleanse the skin gently using the recommended products and pat dry — do not rub.
- Apply only the recommended post-treatment products as advised by your practitioner.
- Avoid makeup, active skincare, perfumes and fragranced products on the treatment area.
- Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms and intense exercise or activities that cause excessive sweating.
Days 4–7: Dryness & Flaking
- The skin may appear bronzed or darker and can feel dry, rough or sandpaper-like as it begins to flake.
- Do not pick, peel or scrub the skin. Allow any flaking or shedding to occur naturally.
- Continue using the recommended aftercare products.
- Avoid sun exposure and sunbeds. Use the recommended broad-spectrum SPF once advised by your practitioner.
Days 8–14+: Skin Recovery
- Fresh skin may appear pink, bright or sensitive as healing continues.
- Pinkness can gradually fade over the following weeks.
- Makeup and your usual skincare should only be reintroduced when the skin has sufficiently healed and your practitioner has advised that it is appropriate.
- Do not restart retinol, acids or exfoliating products until advised that it is safe to do so.
Please follow all individual aftercare instructions provided by your practitioner, as your treatment plan and recovery period may vary.
